I'm going nuts making masks! 

I finished the last of my midyear reviews with my direct reports at work yesterday.   The purpose of the midyear review is to make sure you are on track with your goals. If you are not on track, it helps to identify the obstacles or changes in priorities and adjust accordingly. Also it's a good opportunity to celebrate your successes. Last week wasn't the greatest.  Getting home late from work, sinus headaches, housework and much needed yard work took a big bite out of my stitching time last week. The morning of yard work required allergy medicine and a 2 hour nap to fully recover from the pollen and the heat.  Even getting going at 7:30 AM it was so hot that by 10 AM I really had to quit.

What a FUN filled day!!! Thanks to EVERYONE who logged in to share the virtual retreat experience. Nina joined us from Germany again - so fun to see what's going on in Europe. And Lucy joined us from Alabama - LOVE that southern accent. And loads from Ontario. A few new faces and lots of existing friends. They popped in and out all day!!

The Scientist in Training headed back to campus to start her summer research program yesterday afternoon. The house seemed pretty empty after she left.  She'll be back for Father's Day, which really isn't that far off.  But it's going to take me a bit to get used to her not being here.  

We've been fighting our typical spring battles with the ants and other creatures.  Last night I went to bed and got attacked by what looked like flying ants.  I finally slept on the couch because they kept coming. My Guy slept through the whole thing.  I'll be spraying the baseboards before we leave for work.  Needless to say, I didn't sleep very well. It didn't help that the dishwasher kicked on at about 2 AM.  A rather crappy end to what had been a fairly nice weekend.

Hope you've been able to enjoy the Memorial Day weekend.  We didn't make any big plans for the weekend, spending most of it at home, doing this and that. I did get in a good afternoon of stitching yesterday, so there's a bit of progress here and there.

Unity, 2020 Bonnie Hunter Sew-In-Place Quilt Along

Good morning, friends, and happy Sunday!  I've just returned from "Drive By Communion" in my church parking lot!  I kid you not -- Crazy times.  We watched the live streamed worship online this morning as usual (or, as has BECOME usual since early March), but this is the first Sunday since early March that they've offered in-person communion in the parking lot, served by masked and gloved pastors.  We are blessed at Christ Lutheran with church leadership that is faithful, creative, and prudent.  We didn't see a lot of cars when we went for Drive-By communion following the ...

l, I did it - almost. 

I have two classes this morning via Zoom. The invitations have been sent, and the presentations are done! OK - so I'm missing a picture for one slide. I still need to sew what I'm putting on that slide, but I have ONE free hour before the presentation, so that shouldn't be a problem. And I got 7 of 9 blocks sewn, but that's OK since there are three sets of identical blocks in different sizes. One of each at least got put together.

I'm in good shape, and so far ...

It's already been a long week and it's just Tuesday!  I was back at the office yesterday for the first time in about 7 weeks.  It didn't seem weird, I thought it would. I've worked there so long it was like putting on a very well used and comfortable pair of shoes.

On the other hand, checking off the weekly to do list hasn't been as easy.
